The 2024 Florida Home Brew Competition season has concluded with the Best Florida Beer awards ceremony.
During the eight local circuit competitions, 2,623 beers were judged, and 905 medals were awarded to 241 brewers from 40 clubs nationwide!
The “Club of the Year” title was in contention all season, with Cowford Ale Sharing Club (CASK) and Brewers Anonymous constantly battling for the top position.
In the end, Brewers Anonymous managed to make a breakaway lead late in the season, scoring an impressive combined 139 points in the last two competitions, securing a win!
In the end, the top Florida Home Brew Club Brewers and Home Brew Clubs of the Year for 2024 are:
2024 Brewer of the Year:
TIE – 1st Place Home Brewer of the Year:
Jesse Johnson – 35 Points
Matt Hunsworth – 35 Points
TIE – 2nd Place Home Brewer of the Year:
Buddy Greer – 34 Points
Mike Thompson – 34 Points
3rd Place Home Brewer of the Year:
Ron Minkoff – 33 Points
Special congratulations to Bill Boyer with the North Georgia Malt Monkeys in Woodstock, GA, for scoring the most points in the circuit with his impressive showing in the National Homebrew Competition. With Bill not being a Florida resident or representing a Florida-based home brew club, he is ineligible for Home Brewer of the Year.

2nd Place Home Brew Club of the Year:
